Bordered by the Elizabeth River and the Chesapeake Bay, it is obvious why Norfolk has a long history as a strategic military and transportation point.  Home to the world's largest naval base and the largest military alliance one might think that Norfolk is just like any other military town across the country.  However, a closer look would reveal why Norfolk is known as the historic, urban, financial, and cultural center of the Hampton Roads region.  There are so many attractions to talk about in Norfolk but a few deserve a mention.
