Located on the Virginia Peninsula, Hampton Virginia is known as one of the oldest cities in the United States.  Hampton features military installations such as Fort Monroe, Langley Air Force Base, and NASA Langley Research Center.  The Virginia Air and Space Center is the official visitors center for both Langley Air Force Base and NASA Langley Research Center.  Hampton is probably more notable for being the home of Hampton University which is a historically black university established in 1868.  In addition to Hampton University, Hampton is home to Christopher Newport University and Thomas Nelson Community College. 

Hampton features a wide array of business and industrial enterprises, retail and residential areas, historical sites, and miles of waterfront and beaches.
